Juvenile arrested for Hemptation Burglary

Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Investigators arrested a 16 year old juvenile male from San Andreas for burglary and possession of stolen property.


On 6-2-12 at about 7:05am, the Sheriff's Office took a burglary report at 148 E. St Charles Street, a business known as Hemptation, after a passerby noticed the front window was broken out and employees found items missing. On 6-10-12 at about 11:30pm, a Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputy patrolling the area noticed that another window on the front of the business had been shattered within the last 5-10 minutes. Deputies responded to the area along with the assistance of an Angels Camp Police Officer and K-9 unit attempting to locate suspects with negative results. Upon arrival of store employees, it was discovered that numerous items were stolen from inside the store.

Investigators conducted follow-up on this case including numerous anonymous tips regarding who committed the burglaries. A 16 year old male juvenile from San Andreas was arrested after Investigators located items that were positively identified as stolen during the second burglary.
