SRT performance of Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire - nothing short of excellence.

SRT's 'Cash - Ring of Fire' is an intimate and moving view through the window of Johnny Cash’s life; the events that changed him, the struggles that defined him, and the love that sustained him.

‘Cash – ring of fire’ is an emotional and moving journey through Cash’s life as written in the words of his songs. Lyrics pulled from childhood memories of love and loss, and the love of family and God as the strength that held it all together, create the basis of this performance. Johnny left his story told in song and ‘Cash – ring of fire’ is that story finally told in full.

As the story cleverly unfolded, the scenes and the music flowed seamlessly and time seemed to pass too quickly.

Performed in the historic Fallon house in Columbia, the sound carried perfectly and the feeling of being in a place steeped in history gave the feeling of a more intimate setting. A perfect setting for just such a performance.
The audience sang along on more than one tune, whether intentional (bursting out in song with Ring of Fire) or just reminiscing (singing softly to Waiting on the Far Side Banks of Jordan) it was clear the audience was moved by the experience.

Each actor played their part with intensity and clearly with a love for Cash’s music and the stories they told. The musical talent of the cast was far reaching including instruments such as flute, harmonica, trumpet, fiddle, mandolin, guitar (acoustic and electric), washboard, and more, each instrument seemingly interchangeable with each actor.

Kacey Coppola, Jen Eden, David Elkins, Margaret-Ellen Jeffreys, Sean Riley, and Mike Rosengarten are the amazingly talented and gifted performers that comprise SRT’s ‘CASH – Ring of Fire.’

The following are a few comments from those in attendance at the Friday April 27, 2012 performance:
“better than a Las Vegas show”
“everyone should see this”
“I didn’t expect something this good up here”
“brilliant”

This performance is one of those rare performances that can be seen more than once and enjoyed just as much or more the second time around. A definite ‘must see’ from the Copper Gazette.
