Memorial Day Event to raise funds for Veteran's Hospital Fisher House of Palo Alto

             SAVE THE DATE :
 FISHER HOUSE DINNER
to honor the memory of
Marine Lance Corporal Gavin Brummund, and all of our veterans
Military veterans of Calaveras County are excited to announce a huge event scheduled for May 26, 2012, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. The event is being held honoring the memory of Marine Lance Corporal Gavin Brummund of Arnold, who was killed in action in 2010. The affair, expected to draw a crowd of local veterans, friends and patriots, is being held at the county fairgrounds at Frogtown. The $20 ticket price includes dinner, lots of patriotic camaraderie and multiple opportunities to win exceptional prizes. All proceeds benefit the Veteran’s Hospital Fisher House of Palo Alto.

The Fisher House is a home where the families of veterans may stay while the vet is being treated. This dinner is the brainchild of Army veteran Mike McCombs of Mountain Ranch. Mike recently underwent extensive heart surgery at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto. Mike’s wife Patti was able to stay at the Fisher House with no cost, a considerable savings in light of expensive Bay Area hotel costs. The McCombs were so grateful for the assistance that Mike wished to conduct an event to raise awareness and funds for the program. Many military veterans in the Mother Lode are served by the VA hospital in Palo Alto, so one hundred percent of the proceeds from this event shall go directly to the Palo Alto Fisher House.
This occasion can be the highlight of your Memorial Day Weekend, so save the date now, as it is expected to sell out. This will be a great way for citizens to remember Gavin Brummund and to honor all of our veterans.
Tickets may be purchased through Mike McCombs of Mountain Ranch at 754-4555,
or Kevin Gause of Copperopolis at 785-4954.
For additional information, to make a donation, or to volunteer to assist at this event, please contact Mike McCombs or Kevin Gause
This event is held in conjunction with the Angels Camp Veterans Memorial District
