Sheriff Dept Press release - Narcotics arrest Valley Springs

On 10/18/2011 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department Investigations and Narcotics Unit served two search warrants at 221 Hunter Dam Road in Avery, CA. When Deputies arrived at the residence, suspects attempted to conceal methamphetamine from Deputies. Approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia and stolen property were located in the trailer. Charges for Nathan Smith:
11550 HS – Under the influence of a controlled substance
11350 HS – Possession of an illegal narcotic
11377 HS – Possession of a controlled substance
11378 HS – Possession of a controlled substance for sale
11364 HS – Possession of drug paraphernalia
496 PC – Possession of stolen property
Total Bail – $47,500
Charges for Spencer Breinig:
11550 HS – Under the influence of a controlled substance
Charges for Crystal Towle:
11550 HS – Under the influence of a controlled substance

Several other items of stolen property were located around the property and inside the residence.
Nathan Smith was arrested and is currently in custody at the Calaveras County Jail on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property.

Spencer Breinig and Crystal Towle were also present on the property and taken into custody for being under the influence of a controlled substance. This case is still under investigation.
