Kovac's Memorial BBQ - heartwarming

Saturday October 29, 2011 a memorial BBQ was held at Bridlewood Equestrian Center for 14 year-old Jordan Kovacs and her best friend and grandfather Rick Kovacs who passed away September 19, 2011 while sleeping "as a result of what authorities believe was carbon monoxide poisoning" stated Chief of Clements Fire Dept after an initial investigation.

Approximately 300 people attended the event and up to 250 were fed. Sysco Food Services of Central CA and its suppliers, supplied much of the food and the Richey Family of Copperopolis also donated additional tri tip and chicken.
The Hills Brothers Band performng throughout the event. "The band was phenomenal." Said Kim Borzone, one of the many coordinators of the event that made it a brilliant success.
The event raised an astounding $8081.06 for the family!!

  2. Beautiful turnout, thank you so much to everyone that helped with the fundraiser BBQ. The food and music were wonderful. I will miss my best friend Rick, we had and amazing 38 years. Will be hard not being able to see you but I know your in my heart. And to my Granddaughter Jordan, I will always remember your beautiful smile, and what an amazing young lady you had become. Love you both so much. And watch over all of us!
