Alan Jackson at Ironstone - A Walk Down Musical Memory Lane

Alan Jackson took the stage humbly at Ironstone Ampitheater Friday August 26, 2011 and took the crowd on an amazing trip down musical memory lane.

Amid the gentle rolling hills of the foothill wine country, nestled among some trees and small streams, there lay an outdoor venue that is both intimate and yet allows for the full concert experience. It is known as Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys California. Well known artisits from around the US have had the opportunity to play at Ironstone, each stating with awe at the wonder of the facilities, the grounds and the setting. Alan Jackson was no exception, feeling right at home "out in the country."

From one song to the next Alan could bring the crowd to tears with "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning" reliving the thoughts, fears, and prayers of the millions on September 11, 2001, or he could make them laugh with "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" or with his own magic he could bring them back to when they were a child and they felt tht first rush of power with the control of the wheel in "Drive," a boys story of learning to drive at his daddys hands.

Adding to the country setting mystic of the night were the intemittent moths that danced through the spotlight reminiscent of lighting bugs that are plentiful in Alan Jacksons home state of Georgia.

Jackson, born in '58, wrote his first song in '83 and signed with the Artisita label in '89. That same year he was nominated for six Country Music Association Awards. In 2010 Jackson received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame and in 2011 signed with EMI's Nashville division.

Claiming to have sold over 50 million records during his career, its no wonder every song he performed was known by all in the crowd, both young and old alike.

Opening the Alan Jackson concert was southern fried rock artist and son of Waylon Jennings, Shooter Jennings.
